March 20

Cassius worries me. He is angry with me because I would not support those with bribes, such as Lucius Pella. He believes I have wronged him in some way by ignoring his letters of praise for the man, disgracing him. If that is disgracing to a person, then I have indeed disgraced him. But truly I do not want him to condemn himself to always looking for bribes. Cassius also believes that we should not march to Philippi because our men would be stronger but we must march onward. He grudgingly gave in and agreed though he did not wish to, believing it would be to our advantage if we stayed. I saw Caesar's ghost today, which frightened me much. He talked to me briefly and said we would meet again in Philippi. I fear this ghost of his; it chills me to the bone and causes me to worry about my health.
