AN: My second JAG story. As fluffy as they come.

Disclaimer: Maybe Santa can stuff DJE in my stocking this year? Until then, they're not mine...

In love

Captain Harmon Rabb Jr. was in love. He was head over heels, cloud nr. 9 or whatever other cliché you can think off. And no, before you ask, it wasn't his wife, Colonel Sarah MacKenzie-Rabb he was referring to. Yes, he still loved his wife with all his being. He would never dream of leaving her and in fact was very proud of her, but she wasn't his only love any longer…

He only knew his newfound love for a grand total of six months. She came into his life as a true miracle, never anticipated.

It had only taken one glance at her perfect appearance to knock him over and get him hooked. From that time on he spent every possible free moment with her. He took her for a walk often; to the park, to the mall, wherever she liked to go, showing her off to all people there, relishing in their jealousy as they had to admit she was a beauty. And all his.

He spoiled her rotten. Only the best was good enough. Whatever she wanted, whatever she was pointing at, she could have and he didn't care one bit if she abused his credit card to the max.

At home, he played her silly love songs on his guitar, elated when she smiled approvingly. Other times his gentle music lulled her right to sleep. He shared meals with her, which he insisted on preparing himself. She had a healthy appetite and he enjoyed cooking for her. At night, he watched her as she slept in his arms, drinking in her soft features.

Her eyes were the most piercing blue, her hair soft and dark. In many ways she reminded him of Sarah, which was probably another reason for him to love her to pieces.

With fondness he remembered their first Christmas together two weeks ago. She was thrilled with her gifts, enchanted by the lights of the tree. And he: he was simply thrilled and enchanted by her. Her happiness made him feel on top of the world and he couldn't wait for all the Christmases yet to come.

He was very glad Sarah didn't seem to mind at all that from now on she had to share the precious private time of her husband with the intruding newcomer. If she was jealous, she hid it very well and at least he made sure that she got her honest share in gifts and attention as well.

In fact, both ladies in his life seemed to take an instant liking toward each other. More often than not Harm found his wife gossiping about him with Lizzy, the first one mentioning every silly and embarrassing story there was to tell about him, making both of them giggle. Luckily Lizzy didn't contribute in these stories, since she had only known him for a very short time.

Right now, he was on his way to her. He couldn't wait to get out of the car and head straight into her

room. She had anticipated him, and returned his embrace fiercely, clutching his jacket with both fists in a clasp he couldn't free himself from. Not that he intended to. Taking her to sit on the sofa with him, he began to tell her about his long day. She was listening to him carefully and sincerely, resting her head against his chest, looking up at him with her crystal gaze in which he always drowned. Until he saw her yawn. How silly of him. She probably had a very busy day too. Since she was so very new in town, there were still lots of things to explore, people to meet, stories to hear. It was enough to make her exhausted at the end of the day. Yet, she never objected to his visit; she always had time for him.

As mentioned, her name was Lizzy. Short for Elisabeth. A regal name that quite suited her. As did the rest of her name:

Elisabeth Sarah Grace Rabb. His daughter. Their daughter.
