As usual, Artemis was staring out the window of the musty classroom as Professor Frapenbower attempted to explain the laws of physics to the rest of the class. Yet, unlike the rest of the students normally would be, Artemis was never told off for his habit. Even after spending an entire class in that fashion, he could answer every question asked at the end of class promptly and without doubt of being correct. Today's lesson was an exceptionally boring one, where most of the classtime was spent watching a video about what causes lightning, which then leads to thunder. As Artemis stared out the window, he let his thoughts overcome him, and his mind completely left the classroom. He was thinking back to yesterday, Sunday. He was walking in the park near his manor- a normal pass time for him. He often spent hours pacing down the path, thinking about new dastardly plots and inventions. As he strolled down the path, passing small ponds, creeks, trees of all shapes, sizes, and colors, and twittering birds, he passed a girl, no older than himself, but certainly not much younger. Her skin was fair, and she had auburn hair flowing at least to her waist. When she stood up and turned to look at who was passing her, he noticed her eyes were a royal emerald, mesmerizing and beautiful. Her cheeks were slightly rosy from the wind, and when she saw he was looking at her, her lips formed into a small smile. Artemis shook himself out of his trance and continued walking down the path, not letting that vision of her face leave his mind. Later, Artemis told himself that he had fallen in love that day- a silly thing for a boy like him to do. Nonetheless, he could forget that face, and her smile. Artemis's own lips curved into a smile as he thought about it. Then, he forced himself to snap out of it and pay attention to the class. Suddenly, the bell rang, and Artemis realized he had spent an entire hour thinking of the mystery girl.
