Midnight Thoughts

Zack was asleep. But it was logical to be asleep because it was 2:00 in the morning at The Tipton Hotel. Everyone was asleep. Well, everyone but Cody, who was sitting by the window deep in thought. He was thinking about all the adventures he had today with his friends.

He remembered when they snuck into the air vents to get to the hotel suite 909 because Hilary Duff was spending the night. Apparently her limo had gotten a flat and The Tipton was the nearest hotel. So, naturally, Zack and Cody wanted to meet her. And, naturally, dragged Maddy and London into it.

Maddy...

Cody frowned. 'Why does Zack have to like her of all people?'

The truth was, Cody had liked Maddy from the very beginning. 'I can remember the first day I met her, I was walking into The Tipton for the first time and there she was at the candy counter. Sure I was 12 and she was 15 but the age difference didn't matter to me, I just knew she was the one. Of course I was shy and she didn't even notice me, all I could do was just to stare at her. But then my heart seemed to shatter.

'Zack had his eyes on her of course I knew if I tried to protest he would just think I'm copying him because he was the older twin. He always thinks that. So when Zack started to walk over to Maddy I didn't stop him.'

Cody sighed, knowing Maddy would never like him and that he'd never have a chance with her. But there was that one time when I was down in the lobby and I was looking sort of glum and Maddy came over and asked me what's wrong? I said nothing and she said well if there ever is something wrong you can always come talk to me and then she gave me a hug, that was the best night of my life.

Cody yawned, it was really late, 'I should go to bed.' he thought.

So as Cody climbed into his bed full of exhaustion and feeling very depressed, Zack woke up.

"What's wrong?" He asked with a huge yawn.

'This is my chance!' Cody thought, but as he opened his mouth to explain, a large snore told him that Zack had fallen back asleep.

"Oh.. it's nothing, Zack. Nothing at all." He whispered.

In his sleep, Zack smiled. "I can't wait to see you again, my love. Oh, Maddy!" He moaned.

"Neither can I." Cody whispered as a tear rolled down his cheek. "Neither can I..."
