He stood in shock, staring at her.
A month?
She didn't even try to hide her fear, allowing him to see her vulnerability. Her fear hurt him almost as much as the knowledge of her dying in a few short weeks did. Angry at the injustice of it, he fought the urge to pound the bulkhead with his fists. He'd never felt so helpless, so lost. There were so many things he still didn't know about her, so much to learn. So much to memorize. To love.
Lee closed the space between them and drew Laura in his embrace.
