Chapter One : Spanish Class

The wind ruffled my hair. I knew I shouldn't have been there at that time of year. But I had to be, for my family. For my baby Sister.

The sound of the roaring river below me drowned out my thought. The little bridge I stood on swayed in the hissing wind. I heard footsteps. My ears perked up and I swung my head around, followed by the rest of my body to see...a cat?

I looked down and saw a note on its leg. I dropped the big, heavy black breifcase I was carrying and bent down. It was so nice of my friends to help me. I knew I could trusst them, but not this much. I tore the note from its leg, unfolded it, and started reading as the cat scampered away.

Two Weeks Earlier...

"MOM! I'M LEAVING! I HAVE TO GO TO SCHOOL! I DONT WANT TO BE LATE ON MY FIRST DAY! IT WILL MAKE ME LOOK BAD!" I yelled up the stairs of my new house to my mother. She was up in her room preparing for her first day of work.

We had just moved to Bridgedale and it was my first day of school at Bridgedale High. I was so excited! I knew it would be fun.

"Ok dear! Have fun!" she yelled down the stairs. I bolted out the door and hopped on my bike. As I rode to school I had to avoid cars and pedestrians. Often, I would jump over some debris that had a peice of plywood going up and almost land on people. I pulled into the bike rack and hopped off. It took me like, five minutes to ride 19 blocks. I was pretty much late. "Ok dear! Have fun!" she yelled down the stairs. I bolted out the door and hopped on my bike. As I rode to school I had to avoid cars and pedestrians. We talked about my classes and how important it was to be on time. Blah blah blah. She handed me my schedule and map. "Thank you Mrs. Rimstone!" I said. "Please, call me Kaede." she replied. "Ok!" I said as I bolted out the door. I checked my schedule. Spanish class. My faveorite!
