-I sat up in bed and looked through the window at the sun peering in. It cast shadows on the rest of my room, which was dark except for the few areas that the sun decided to shine its warmth and beauty on…

…hmmm I thought about the sun…how all life was dependent on the sun…how that without the sun we would all surely cease to exist. Without the suns warmth how were we to grow any sort of nourishment essential to sustaining our frail bodies…how frail our bodies were.

I sat in bed silently unmoving for nearly another hour. I watched as sun continued to cast shadows on the furniture in my room. As time passed the shadows moved and the light shed it warm and good grace on different parts of my bland room until finally it nearly illuminated all of my gloomy room giving the room and oddly friendly air, which I had never experienced before.

At that moment my partner stirred from his drunken sleep. Sitting up in bed he wrapped his warm arms around my neck. His body had absorbed the suns heat and he pushed his warm body closer and closer to mine. I could feel his skin rub against my back. I sat still unmoved and unchanged. He laid his head on my shoulder resting his head next to mine; placing his head so close I could feel his breath in my ear. My head was facing away from him and I tried to ignore his presence.

"Something wrong lover?" Juubei asked in a whisper his warm breath was felt on my ear and then on my neck. I shivered slightly but not significantly enough for him to notice.

I stared of into the distance still as if I hadn't heard Juubei's question. I sat silently for another five minutes before I answered…"I suppose." It was all I could manage without giving too much away to my lover.

I could feel his breathing slow I knew he was uneasy, he knew something was out of place he just couldn't place what it was. He just remained in his same position lying there his warm body against mine, and his breath running down my ear until it hit my neck. Finally Juubei got up and walked over to beside the bed were his pants were lying. He pulled on his incredibly tight jeans and walked out of the room shirtless; stopping at the door he turned and faced me…

"I'll go start breakfast." He said as he turned and walked out of my room leaving me with my thoughts again…but now I had nothing to think about I just sat there staring blankly off into space. I finally awoke from my trance and aroused my self from bed. I pulled the sheet around my self as I searched for a pair of pants. I walked over to a dark corner, probably the only part of my room not touched by the sun's light. I picked up and old pair of tight faded jeans that were ripped a few to many times. I quickly wriggled into the ancient pants and headed down to find out what Juubei had decided to prepare for breakfast.

"Memories fade but the scars still linger… goodbye my friend… will I ever love again."
