Disclaimer: I am not JK Rowling. I do not own any of her settings or characters, and all the wishing in the world won't change a thing.
A/N: This is the epic poem of Draco Malfoy, set directly after HBP. Flame if you must, just as long as you review. R&R and I will love ya forever!
Book I- The Escape
One cold breeze to shift the night,
Walking, pacing, numb with fright.
Though winds cry out in a roar,
Silence leads you out the door.
Wand at ready, eyes kept sharp,
Mind your training in the dark.
Like a shadow, round the bend
And far away from Spinner's End.
The Potions Master, without doubt,
Shall curse your fleeing in a shout.
Your role model has steered you wrong,
Then kept you safe, but not for long.
So just keep moving, don't look back;
Prepare yourself for grave attack.
The unexpected lies ahead;
This path you choose may leave you dead.
But that's the funny thing in life:
It welcomes change through deepest strife.
Your father's fate is not your own,
Your battle won't be fought alone.
Book II- Apparation to an Unexpected Home
Through this old ally, there's no sound,
Not a single soul around.
You'll apparate to stay alive.
Your mind screams two words: Privet Drive.
Dark, tight pressure; you can't speak.
No more comfort left to seek.
Squeezing, binding is your chest,
All the world seems compressed.
Take a dizzy, woozy look,
Seemingly peaceful neighborhood.
Ten feet forward, to the right
Sleeps a house barely in sight.
This is where you dare to go,
You'll seek help from this old foe.
Could he understand the pain?
Would you ever do the same?
Book III- Waking
Curses, hexes, jinxes, Duel.
Show no mercy on the fool.
He won't listen to what you're about.
Even The Chosen One won't hear you out.
Well what did you expect from him?
That he'd go out on a limb,
To change your ways and be your guide?
Show you somewhere safe to hide?
Curses, hexes, jinxes, Duel.
Show no mercy on The Chosen Fool.
He won't listen, no one will.
No you're on your own for real.
Book V-Wandering Aimlessly
Mindlessly crossing roads before dawn,
All hopes of guidance completely gone,
All determination dead,
You pace the muggle streets instead.
Two muggle strangers, two muggle men,
Cruise by in an old Corvette,
Ask you where you need to be,
They can take you there, you see.
Chances, chances come and go.
You must take this chance, you know.
Slide in the back seat of the car,
They can take you very far.
Not much to gain, yet nothing to loose.
This can be the path you choose,
Leave faults behind and start anew
A changed life lies ahead of you.
Two muggle men, two muggle strangers,
Turn to face you, you face your danger.
Fear. Fear turns your world dark,
As they roll up their sleeves and reveal the mark.
