The Jewel

Chapter 1

The night that Sarena Jewel fell into darkness was the night that a creature was born. One who's

destiny was one that involved the live of every human on the planet we once called Earth.

The year is 4367 A.D. and the Government of the United States was falling apart. The president

has just announced an evacuation of the entire planet. SS75 or earth was no longer ecologicaly

stable. There had been more natural desasters in the past month then ever recorded. But deep in

the city of New York, one woman, named Sarena Jewel was soon going to see that her life as she

new it was about to change.

" JEWEL, in my office now!" the intercom buzzed just as she stepped into her cubicle. Sarena was

a young, beautiful woman. Green eyes and black hair hid away her patential of being confident.

Instead, she was quiet and easy going and most of all, not very popular with her boss. Sarena took

a deep breath and stepped into the office.

"Miss Jewel, sit." Mr Alfred Doyle, a plump, smelly old man with a bad atitude and an ugly comb

over, twisted in his chair. Rubbing his chin and looking very angry, he tossed a file over to Sarena.

She hesitated alittle then grabbed it and glanced through it. "I am not happy about this months

numbers. We have a deadline we must meet and if you keep giving me crap like this, we will never

meet it." Mr. Doyle stood up and walked over to Sarena. She sat nevously and held her shaking

legs. "Mr. Doyle, I can fix this. Give me just one more month and..." Just as she was going to finish,

he yelled out in anger. " I have given you to many chances Jewel and I frankly, am tired. I don't

think things are working out. You don't being to me what this company needs." Tears filled her eyes

and she nodded her head. "Now pack your crap up and get the hell out of my building." Sarena

walked through the parking lot to her car. When she reached it, she broke down into tears. "What

am I going to do now?" She whispered to herself as she loaded up her trunk. As she got into her

car she noticed woman walking through the parking lot. She looked sad and confused. Sarena

cursed to herself and got out to the car. She then started walking toward the woman and realized

there was somthing strange about the her. She took a closer look and noticed that the woman's

eyes were black. Sarena suddenly felt the impulse to run away. She turn around and sprinted

toward the car. When she got there, the woman was blocking the driver seat door. "Im very

hungry, do you have anything to eat?" The woman took a few steps toward Sarena and she froze

there were she stood.

"No Im sorry, but here, take this and go get yourself something to eat, ok?" Sarena handed her 10

dollars hopeing the woman would go away but she didn't. " I don't need money, I just found me

something better." The woman leaped up into the air and landed on top of Sarena. Sarena

screamed in fear as the woman sank her teeth into her neck. She felt as if the life was being drained

out of her as she fell to the ground. Her vision blurred but out of the darkness came three men.

They looked like soldiers but they wore all black. The men took the woman down with one blow

to the head. One man walked over to Sarena and removed his mask. His features were those that

Sarena has never seen before. Dark brown hair and these amazing blue eyes hid a shy but

confidence face. " Your going to be ok. Im Jol." Then Sarena fell into darkness.
