Pairings: Sherlock Holmes/John Watson (one sided), John Watson/wife
The movie Case of the Silk Stocking, BBC.
Disclaimer: I own nothing, nor am I making money from this.
I falsely reassure him that I will summon him if I was in need of the dear doctor. Had I given my true word, he would not have left my side for my constant call. My hand grasps his, not wishing to let go.
I tell myself I have to be strong.
I smile politely, teeth clenched tightly as I nod to another woman who has stolen Watson, she will be the one to keep him company in front of the fire, they will discuss petty problems concerning the weather, the price of veal and that eccentric old friend who they haven't seen for years. What has happened to dear old Holmes?
I sit and pull out a bent cigarette straightening it with long fingers that had yet to forget the feel of Watson's skin. I breathed in the smoke, watching the couple walk away, caught in a conversation that brings faint laughter to the newly married pair. I let the smoke escape between my parted lips and let the warmth of Watson's presence soak in from the chair that I now occupy.
If only I were strong enough to keep him.
S: The Case of the Silk Stoking, a recent rendition of Holmes by the BBC, I'm surprised they were allowed to give it a second shot after they massacred our dear detective with their Hound of the Baskervilles shudders But that's just my opinion.
I found it interesting that after Watson has wished Holmes good bye the dear detective actually sits down in Watson's seat, that made me grin, as did the longing stare he directs at Watson when he leaves.
