Well, this is a somewhat cute love-poem from Remus to Sirius (more slash to tha people) that I wrote during one particularily boring philosophy-lesson. (Think professor Binns, and you have my teacher...He even looks dead O.o)Myoriginal ideawas that it was going to be a monologue that I could use during my drama-class (and I did), and in that case, Sirius is supposed to be awake, panicking silently as his friend confesses his love to him...
Endless, sleepless
In this darkness wide, forbidding,
your soul hides behind the lids
of your eyes, so white and silken,
and the shadows you're amidst.
Now you sleep, my star and blessing,
my midnight wish and friend,
and I wish this gentle torment
would somehow meet with its end.
And I wonder, do you dream
when the night grows slow and chill
of a world where things are different?
Say, why do you sleep so still?
And forgive me for intruding,
but why, oh why, my dear,
do I chose awake to dream
that you love me, that you're near?
I am frail and I am burning,
as you smile, but not at me.
I am caught up in your dreaming,
and you cannot set me free.
But do not cry for the blind one!
I won't waste my tears on you,
for you will not ever know of
all the pain I suffer through.
Don't complain when no one hears you,
but watch silent through the night,
when time slowly becomes endless,
out of longing, out of spite.
And my angel, black-grey-white,
with your silent, gaping lips,
I would give the world to hold you;
slowly kiss your fingertips.
If I only dared to touch you,
if you only let me in,
I would grasp you with my yearning
forget all that I have been.
But you sleep and do not know of
all these words that countless fall,
like a heart cut free from veins,
like the echo's restless call.
Sleep in shadows, sleep so peaceful,
as my dream fails to come true.
Sleep, my love, and I'll forget
that my eyes see naught but you.
