This is why Chas never really liked Angela.
Angela was his replacement, at least that's what it felt like to Chas.
Angela got involved, she had the sight.

"Of course she's not, Chas"
But he was lying and Chas knew that.
That is why he had to try harder
That is why he followed John to his fateful showdown, even though if it was to save Angela.
Chas always loved him.
But that is not why Chas died for John Constantine.
