I remember how we laughed,
I remember our sweet kiss.
I remember you told me always,
And now it's you I miss.
Every night I dream of you,
I toss and turn and cry.
I remember all our time together,
And it makes me question why.
Why did you fade from me?
Why did you fade from sight?
After all we shared together
On that fateful night.
So the stars hang in the sky,
And the pain still breaks my heart.
That night you told me always,
And now we are apart.
I know you didn't mean to hurt me,
To make me sad or angry.
I know you never wanted me to cry,
But it's how I feel since you left me.
I want to see you now,
Even if only in my dreams.
I want you to hold me now,
As futile as it all seems.
I wish that you could be here,

Like you did on that fateful night.
