The Eyes of A Slytherin

Chapter One: Long Time No See

She would have known those eyes anywhere- no amount of magic could have ever disguised neither that distinct shade of gray-blue, nor that unreadable expression captured within them. She would have known Draco Malfoy anywhere.

It had been risky enough, Draco had realized, coming to Diagon Alley, even disguised as he was. People were more suspicious than ever before, now with Dumbledore dead… And now Hermione Granger, one of the many people he had not wanted to run into, was staring at him, not with googly-eyes, but with an intense stare- she knew who he was. She was standing across the cobblestone street, looking so shocked that he nearly laughed. And then her lips parted to call his name.

In an instant he was a mere foot away from her, fixing her with a stare, putting a finger to her lips. It was really Draco Malfoy. He was even more recognizable up close, despite the fact his hair was now black, skin not quite as pale as it used to be. To tell the truth, she doubted Harry or Ron would have recognized him… but she'd seen Malfoy in all of her classes, knew him better than they did… knew that expression, knew those eyes.

"Malfoy…" She breathed, unable to tear her eyes away from him until she heard the slight popping noise of someone apparating behind her. It was probably Snape, but at the moment she didn't care.

"It's been awhile, Granger."

Dunno… but I felt the need to write this… and viola, here it is. Might continue it if I get the chance. Ah well. R/R if you would be so kind.

Thanks,

Freckles
