Hello everyone. To those of you who have read the first 'A Life Divided', this is similar to that one, but changed so that it makes more sense. Also, this isn't copied from rugby chick, as I was the one who wrote it last time, anyways. Besides, this joint brainstormed! (rugby chick wrote it with me).

T o those that have not read the afore mentioned title story, the above paragraph will not make sense, but the story will, as it is not a continuation of the first story and has a totally different plot.

Now, this starts off in their seventh year (Half Blood Prince has not been taken into consideration), and I… er… we hope you like it!

Chapter 1-

Cat turned a corner and cursed as the train lurched forward, throwing her off balance, ' I don't know why mum and Seth had to get transferred anyway. I mean, what's the problem with going to a muggle school? Just cause mum's a witch doesn't necessarily mean I have to be one!' she muttered darkly.

In one arm, she carried several books, while with the other hand she held fast to the handle of her carrier as it bumped along behind her on its rather squeaky wheels.

Suddenly, one of the heavy books started to slide out of her grip. She lunged forward to catch it… and rammed into a boy who was passing her.

' Sorry!' She said, flashing a smile at the boy.

He shook his head, looking disgusted, ' Whatever. Try not to be such a klutz next time… or would that be too hard?'

Cat's eyes widened in shock. The nerve of him!

He pushed past her, taking care to step on one of the books she had dropped.

' Arshole.' She muttered under her breath, picking up her books and righting her carrier.

She saw a girl heading toward her and stopped her, ' Do you know where I can find Hermione Granger?'

' Yes. I would be her.' The girl said, smiling pleasantly. She had rather bushy brown hair and wore a shiny badge with a large 'H' embellished upon it.

' Great!' Cat said in relief, ' I'm one of the new students, Rory should be hear soon.'

' Rory?'

' Well… Aurora, she doesn't really like being called that, though. I'm Cat… its short for Catherine, but I don't like being called that.'

' Okay.' Hermione said, just as a figure ran around the corner and almost ran into the two of them.

' Rory!' Cat exclaimed, seeing her sister's flushed face and tangled black hair she asked, ' What did you do now?'

' Nothing! Honestly, Cat it seems like you always think I'm 'up to something'.'

' That's cause you usually are!'

' Yeah, well that's besides the point.'

Cat was now wearing her I-won-the-argument-look while Rory wore a Say-one-more-word-about-it-and-die look.

' Er… perhaps I could show you to the Prefects carriage, so you can meet them all?'

' Sure.' The sisters said in unison, following Hermione down the hall.

' Oh.' Hermione stopped suddenly, ' Maybe… well… we can get rid of those books and that carrier.'

' Really?'

Hermione flourished her wand and the afore mentioned objects disappeared.
