This is just a little spark of inspiration I had after reading HBP, and had forgotten about until now.
Just a short one-shot - I hope you like it.

I left her for a good reason, I'd told myself.
Dumbledore had died, and if he could be killed, anyone could.
Maybe I wasn't thinking clearly, but I had to do it…she wouldn't have been safe otherwise.
She survived the War, as did I.
Unfortunately, Ron and Hermione never made it…two more sacrifices for my life that cut too deep.
I was confused, hurt and distraught, so I did what I thought I should do.
I ran.
It's been five years since then.
I tried to forget about her - honestly, I did.
But you couldn't just forget Ginny Weasley.
I watched her for afar, always too afraid to do anything. She looked for me, but eventually moved on.
And again I watch her, as she stands on an altar next to Neville Longbottom, her face lit up and looking even more beautiful than ever before.
I stared up with a mixture of emotions - I had long dreamt of being in his position, but it would never happen.
The vows were exchanged, and as they kissed I felt my heart break into a million pieces and could swear I heard every single fragment shatter upon the stone floor.
I turned to run again, but she turned and met my eyes, her own widening.
"Harry…" She whispered, shocked.
The talk stopped and everyone turned to stare. Neville froze and Ginny - well, I could never read her.
"I'm sorry…" I spoke, my first and last words to her.
I turned and ran again being the coward that I am, feeling that even in the pits of hell that the shards of my heart would have caused the most bitter of pain had they somehow regained some of the emotion that had left me at last for all eternity.
