Sugar, We're Goin Down
It was hard to explain, more complex than anything. How he had gotten himself into this mess he would never know, but one thing was clear. The whole mess thing, well, it was the best god-damn mess he had ever gotten himself into.
Cedric Diggory prided himself on his honesty, which was why it had been so hard to admit that he was gay. Well, bi was more fitting actually. His father was so proud of him, there was no way he could tell him something this degrading, this…abnormal… Of course, his mother knew; how exactly he would never know. One prominent guess was mother's intuition. She had always known when Cedric had been hiding something.
This was a big something.
Cedric made a deal with his mother. He would tell Amos when he was ready, and she would support any decisions he would make until, before, or after that time. That seemed fair enough; if only he had known things were going to get complicated.
The Tri-Wizard Tournament was an event that really held no importance to Cedric. His friends had pressured him into it mostly, saying that out of everyone in Hufflepuff, he was the most suited for eternal glory. He wanted eternal glory about as much as the Death Eaters at the Quidditch World Cup wanted to be thrown in Azkaban. Of course, that attitude changed when his name fluttered out of the Goblet of Fire like some heavenly mandate. Apparently, he was destined for eternal glory. He would never forget that feeling of exhilaration as he walked down the center of the Great Hall. Shaking Professor Dumbledore's hand, entering the trophy room with the other champions. Everything and everyone seemed to be on his side during those few precious moments. But all good things must come to an end. In this case they were making way for even better things.
There were footsteps echoing through the corridor, too light to be a teachers. A black haired boy came into view; hands shaking, visibly unnerved. Cedric recognized him instantly. He could never forget those eyes, that bright emerald green. It was Harry Potter, albeit they had met briefly that summer, he seemed different now. The carefree attitude was gone, replaced by a mask of confusion and fear. Cedric had to reprimand himself for finding the boy's plight exquisite. God, Potter was so adorable when he was nervous. That made Cedric pause in his thinking. Was he was developing feelings for a fourth-year?
A fourth-year named Harry Potter?
Crap.
I was inspired by the new Harry Potter movie, which was absolutely worth the $7.50 to get in. Here's my take on Cedric/Harry. I may have a chapter or two later, but please don't rag on me if it takes a few days…or weeks…Please review, it helps me update.
