"You gotta let me go." He said, emitting a small sigh.
"They're trading me to SmackDown! soon, then we can be together again.." she paused for a moment, a small smile playing on her lips, "together.." she muttered. "Just like we were before." She promised him, with a large grin on her face.
"Come on, Trish" He said, in what sounded like a warning tone. He let out another exasperated sigh, aimed at the blonde woman. "I'll be back tomorrow," he assured her, "besides," he continued, I've gotta finish packing, my plane leaves in about 3 hours and I gotta be at the airport in an hour, if you don't let me go, I'll miss my plane and won't be back for a whole other day," he said, switching the phone to the other ear. "The sooner you let me go, the sooner I finish packing, the sooner I get to the airport, the sooner I get to sit in the plane, the sooner I get home to you," he said, smiling on his end, at the mere thought of seeing her.
"Okay then, Jay." She let out an exasperated sigh at his antics. "I'm too tired to fight with you. So I'll hold ya to that. Besides I have big news." She said, another small smile starting to form on her face.
"Well…" He yawned, stretching his arms over his head, his back arching and all his bones cracking at the same time. "It can wait, can't it?" he asked, stretching his arms over his head, tiredly. "Look, I'm sure it's not that important Trishy, it can't be that important," he said, using the nickname that had always been reserved for only him to use."Besides," he added, "even if it is..I have a really long flight ahead of me." He paused for a moment, "I promise you," he yawned cutely, running a hand through his short blonde hair, "you can tell me tomorrow, and I'll listen," he stopped again, pausing only to let out a short yawn, "with every fiber of my being." He promised her.
"Love you." She said, almost crying at his nonchalant tone at her news.
"Love you too baby," He said, smiling slightly at his silver cell phone.
And that would be it for them. That would be the last time that she would ever hear his beautiful voice again. The next morning, while he was on his way to see her, in Ontario, on the earliest flight back, which she had booked for him, the small plane had crashed, not only that but it had killed her fiancé Jay Reso.
None of the passengers had survived.
Jay was dead.
It wouldn't register in her mind. Not only was Jay dead, but in 8 months time, she was going to be a mother, a single mother at that..and she couldn't even handle it..his life was gone, and now her child wouldn't have a father..all because..tomorrow never came.
