This just happens to be one of those things that I just seemed to have to write…..

Moonlit memories.

By Arami Heartilly.

There had been a moment that was etched so indelibly on her memory that she considered it would pass on from this life to the next.

She could still feel him holding her, the currents in the water moving subtly around them and the light glistening from the woods around, casting a soft shadow across his features.

His kisses had been soft and soothing, easing the pain in her heart and awakening something she had never hoped to possess. He was her all, her everything…. But she had lost him after their world was able to wake from their two thousand year nightmare.

It had been then that her own began.

Two years spent in a daze and another few months searching the world in the hope of finding Him, the one entity she desired above all others was the one that had been denied for so, so long had lead her once again on a quest to save their planet.

She had felt more alive in that time than in her life since he faded… but she still hadn't felt whole… instead her own pain had been accompanied Lenne and her lover.

Then, at the end she was left with her own again….

Now though, in the soft moonlight she could once again see his face, hear his heartbeat and feel the warmth that only he could give her, moving back over to the bed they now shared, Yuna felt the momentary panic she suffered every time she went to touch him.

"I'm not going to disappear." She heard him whisper, his eyes opening and twinkling softly in the near darkness.

"I know." She reassured him, and then her self by bringing her hand to his cheek, rubbing her thumb across his soft skin.

He pulled her gently towards him, taking her into his arms and holding her there. No words of comfort came to him, and he doubted that any would have brought her comfort, but he knew this was the way it would stay. Both of them, together.

"Tidus?" she whispered in question against his ear.

"Yeah?"

"Nothing." She breathed, realizing that whatever question she wanted to ask she already knew the answer. It was strange, knowing that you were going to spend the rest of your life loving someone and having never talked of marriage….

Yuna could feel her eyelids start to close and sleep find her when a trace of soft kisses graced her neck. Awaking her senses if not arousing her from her sleepy state completely, the lines between reality seemed to blur in a haze she'd come to know since had had returned to her.

Turning his head, Tidus claimed her lips, as she pulled him tighter against her memories entwining with the present in her mind. But the bittersweet pain associated with Macalania had long since faded. Now, there was no uncertainty, no fear. Hope had filled the wholes they'd torn in her heart, giving her back the only love she'd ever known.

I hope that anyone who read this enjoyed it, as always reviews and constructive criticism in welcome.
