AN/ Well, just a very short story about how I like to imagine Sam got his first kiss… anyway enjoy!
The First Kiss
Frodo, Sam, Merry and Pippin sat at a table in the Green Dragon.
"Come on Sam" Merry said, "go talk to her!" "No, and will you please keep your voice down?" Sam replied. "Oh come on! Listen, now I'm going to call out for more ale and then you'll have your chance."
And before poor Sam could say anything, Merry had already shouted through the crowded room: "Oi! Rosie, over here!" Rosie turned around and saw Merry. "In a minute!" she called back, and then she saw Sam and she smiled. Sam's face grew hot.
"Ah! Didn't I say so?" said Merry, "she likes you" "oh, shut up" said Sam. Rosie made her way from the bar with four pints. "Here you go!" she said and put down the ale. "Sam wants to say something to you", Pippin busted out. Rosie looked surprised but nonetheless, she turned and looked smilingly at Sam. Sam's face was red and Frodo thought he could feel the heat. "Em," Sam said. His mind was working at highest speed to find something to say. "You… you look pretty" was the only thing that came out of his mouth.
Merry sniggered in his ale and Pippin coughed. "Well, thank you" said Rosie and she then turned to serve the other guests. Sam tried to hide behind his ale, but Frodo but an elbow in his side. "So," he said, "you look pretty" Merry and Pippin tried not to laugh, but when Sam let out a: "very funny" they couldn't stop it. They began to laugh and sprayed Frodo and Sam with ale. "I better go home. My old Gaffer is properly worried." Said Sam and stood up. "he's not worried" laughed Frodo when he had got the ale out of his ears.
"Well… anyway" said Sam and tried to find another reason. "Yeah, yeah." Said Merry and then Pippin added: "don't forget to give Rosie her goodnight-kiss!" They laughed again.
Sam made a face, but when he turned to go out, he banged right into Rosie and her tray with ale. "Oh no!" she said while Sam tried not to hear the roars of laughter form his friends. "I'll help you" he said quickly. Soon the mess was cleaned up and Rosie made her way back to the bar. Sam followed her, his friends whispering in suspense. "I'm really sorry" he said, "oh, it doesn't matter" Rosie answered.
There was a pause. Sam wondered if she could hear his heart beat. If he only had known, that she was thinking the exact same thing. "Well, I'd better go home" he said, and Rosie nodded, "If you must" she answered in a whisper. As Sam walked through the door, he definetly thought he could hear Frodo say: "What did I say? Pay!" Sam didn't want to know why Frodo should get money from Merry and Pippin.
When he was about 15 yards from the inn, he heard Rosie call: "Sam! Sam, wait!" When he turned around he saw, just for a fleeting second Merry, Pippin and Frodo's heads in the doorway. Rosie came to a halt in front of him. "I just wanted to say… to say goodnight." There was a pause and then the three hobbits in the doorway held their breaths. And then, for a brief second, Rosie kissed Sam. "Goodnight" she whispered and turned around. When she reached the door, she said goodnight to Merry, Pippin and a sour looking Frodo.
They ran quickly up to Sam, Merry and Pipppin still clutching money in their hands. "Nice job, Sam!" said Merry and clapped him on the back. Sam couldn't help it: he smiled. His whole body felt as though he had had too much of the good ale. But, as he reminded himself, the hangovers wouldn't be bad.
Well, that was it! If you like it, review if you don't like it, try one of my other stories, they're so much better! Ida.
