No Take Backs
Edward Elric grinned at his younger brother, Alphonse. They finally had all of the ingredients. 35 liters of water; 1.5 kilograms of lime; 20 kilos of carbon; 4 liters of ammonia; 800 grams of phosphorus; 250 grams of niter; 100 grams of sulfur; 80 grams of magnesium; 1.5 grams of manganese; 5 grams of iron; 3 grams of silicon; 250 grams of salt; 100 grams of saltpeter; 7.5 grams of fluorine; and traces of a few other elements. The entire makeup of an adult human body, bought with the allowance of two children.
The array had been painted on the floor, the milky white paint standing out on the stone of the dark basement. A shelf with books, a desk, and two or three sets of armor, left there by their father, were the only furniture left in the room, pushed into the corners.
"You ready to do this, Al?"
The older brother asked, allowing an arrogant grin to settle on his face.
"Maybe this isn't a good idea, brother… What are we going to trade for Mom's soul? Nothing we have can be equivalent to that…"
Edward took a small knife that had been sitting on the desk.
"Our blood..." he said, pricking his finger. He took the knife to his brother's hand as well.
"Our blood from hers. That's equivalent. A soul isn't much more then information anyway."
The two brothers stood over the tray with the elements. Crimson blood, almost black in the semi-darkness, dripped into the tray.
The brothers knelt next to the array and activated it, a warm golden glow filling the room.
No Take Backs.
