An: Dedicated to beata-beatrix another writer aiming to spread the joy. Who possibly thinks I'm a man. Dammit ranting and fanfiction are addictive.
You knew it was coming. You knew I could stay away. So I give you.
THE PRE CHRISTMAS SPECIAL. Review and I can use the trendy new response button!
Setting: Erik's Lair- A small villa in the south of France. The other one BURNED DOWN.
Erik walks into the story. He turns and begins to address you ,the reader.
"Hello Everyone. Well this is unusual. Normally the author writes for me. However today considering how serious the subject we decided it was better I mentioned the issue myself."
But what Erik could be so serious that you had to come in person to tell us?
"Well. As you all know the holiday season is approaching. This I believe is the first holiday that you the book and movie fans will celebrate together."
Ah. Now I understand. So Erik would you like to relay your holiday message onto our readers?
"Yes" He gazes intensely into the story.
"Christmas Fluff is for life not just for Christmas"
Care to elaborate?
"Well you see judging on the calibre of stories this year I can see our review workers are going to have a difficult time . You see you as the author may be in the Christmas spirit and decide to spread the joy by creating a Mary Sue. Alternatively by writing some drivel about Christine giving me a Christmas present. Also, how can we forget the hilarious stories that involve a song fic in which I rock around the Christmas tree. Or I become Santa Claus"
Erik you're forgetting one of the biggest growing problems.
"Yes I am. Now is the time of year that Christine's of all ages decide to leave our love child alone on my front doorstep."
That is right and its becoming difficult, as Erik does not have a front doorstep. We are having to clear out the gaping plot hour daily. Any last words?
"Just a few. Now I know you writers are probably thinking of original ideas at this very moment. Some of you are probably forgetting to spell check them even now. But before you post stop. Remember even after Christmas is gone, those stories will remain. In your brain and our memory.
Erik remember that one last thing that you said you would mention that we discussed earlier.
"Oh Yes. Remember children every time a Sue is created Erik kills a kitten. Think of the kittens."
Erik leaves to go and do something. I can't think what….
A few other useful notes. Please if I haven't been able to persuade you against writing do use decent carols. Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas is not one of them. Remember written before 1870. Here are a few ideas.
1. Some of the earlier sections of Handel's Messiah e.g. He shall feed his flock. O thou that tellest good tidings to Zion
2. Once in Royal David city- First verse good solo for Choirboy or small child.
3.Gaudete (Rejoice with heart and voice). Choral piece.
4. Branie de L'Offical (Ding-dong Merrily on high) Would be very appropriate.
5. It came upon the midnight clear.
6. Stille Nacht (Silent night)
7. While shepherds watched their flocks.
8. Jesus, child of gentle Mary.
9. Von himmel loch (Within this humble manger.)
10. Hark the herald angels sing.
That's about it. Have a Merry November/Christmas! Please leave your review on the way out. Lastly if in doubt email me! Don't post in silence.
