1Prologue
It was a warm spring night and everything was peaceful. The full moon illuminated an isolated meadow with it's silver rays reflecting on the smooth pond water. The gentle breeze rustled the emerald colored leaves and creating ripples on the usually smooth as glass lake seemed to be the only movement. Also the small green meadow was devoid of life. Or so it seemed.
If you looked closely you could see a dark figure lurking in the shadows of the night barely visible by the light of the moon and stars. It swiftly leapt from tree to tree hardly making a noise when it landed in the hanging branches on the trees. When it jumped the distance of the meadow all you could see was a silver and black streak cutting through the still air. It landed gracefully in the canopy of a gigantic oak tree and then swung off the branch on to a lower branch and sprawled across the thick limb. The figure gazed at the round orb in the sky with shining blue eyes, and slowly lifted its hand, as if to examine it, and the glow of the moon showed that the hand had long, sharp claws on the youkai's thin fingers. When the gentle breeze returned the figure stiffened for a second like it was in shook.
Funny that scent reminds me of someone I knew decades ago, the now female youkai thought But it seemed impossible because this was the middle of human territory. She didn't even know why she was thinking about him since he left her years ago and never came back. She sighed heavily still staring at the moon. No matter how hard see tried, she could never forget him and everything they did together. They were together for years and one morning when she woke up he just disappeared without a goodbye or anything, and she hadn't seen him since. She sniffed the air and smelt the scent again, it was still faint but it was stronger then before.
I'm not imagining things! That is his scent. Even though her face was hidden in the shadows you could see her clear blue eyes widen in surprise and her fangs glisten in the moonlight when she smiled. For a few minutes she debated in her head if she should follow the faint scent of the guy she used to know.
Why not check it out? After all I've been curious about why he left that day and if it isn't him it doesn't matter, because I have no where specific to go. Making her decision she sat up on the branch where she was laying the whole time. With one leap she headed toward the forest floor and started sorting through the smells on the winds to find the right one to start her journey. She located the one she was looking for and took of in that direction in great bounds.
The scent seems to be several days old so it'll take awhile to locate him. "Can it be him?" she asked herself under her breath while the ground flashed by as she zipped across the ground. " Is it really you ...Inuyasha." she whispered as she dashed toward the human settlement of Musashi.
