Authors note:

Just a one shot I wanted to do, I was bored. I'm not going to bother with a disclaimer because everyone already knows that Van Helsing and Dracula go unowned.

He stood there, staring at the dark man in front of him. Though he was nearly color blind, he could tell the man was in all black. His hair pulled back into a pony-tail with a few stray strands of hair falling into his green gaze. He seemed so sure of himself, yet upon very close inspection, there was a small glimmer of fear in his eyes. This was good; his enemy fearing him was good.

The wounds where he'd raked his claws down the side of his face and down his neck were already bleeding. And a gash across his fore-head where he'd thrown him into the wall. But now there was a strange silence, the were-wolf and the vampire facing off. His mortal enemy stepped back slightly, keeping his eyes locked on his own.

"I can give you back your life, Gabriel…cut the strings that play you." He whispered. Van Helsing let out a low growl, fur covering his body and claws digging into the stone ground. "I can give you back your memory…" Another growl. Van Helsing thought about what Dracula was saying. Gabriel…Gabriel… this name held meaning to him, but what it was he didn't know.

"Join me and I'll give you your life back." Dracula noticed the werewolf form of his enemy hesitating, staring at him with his ears laid back. The hulking creature let out a whine and dropped to all fours, staring at the ground. The vampire dared to take a step towards him, which immediately drew the werewolf's attention from the patterns on the ground to him. He let out a growl and lunged quickly at him. But the vampire was quicker, and stepped to the side, his hand growing claws as he reached forward and slashed across Van Helsing's face and side. The werewolf hit the ground with a whimper.

"Do not be a fool, Gabriel." His harsh whisper echoed again. Gabriel, there was that name again. "All you need to do is give yourself up to me…succumb to my darkness." The werewolf whined, holding his head as thoughts of various things entered his mind. A piercing screech, a woman with long dark hair, a friar of sorts, a church.

"We are both a part of the same great game, both at war with everyone in the world…we might as well help each other out." The werewolf looked at him, whining.

An evil smirk crossed this mans face as he watched him. How could he seem so calm as he looked what could've been his death straight in the eye? The wolf again dropped to all fours and he slowly walked forward. Dracula remained where he was, watching his every movement. "The nights of the holy order tried to take you from me, Gabriel…now they'll see what they have to deal with."

The werewolf whined as what he believed to be memories invaded him. Dracula gave his crafty grin as Van Helsing lowered himself before him. The vampire seemed to hold a certain power over him, one that made him give in.

Dracula seemed to disappear from in front of him, and reappear behind him. The werewolf whined as he advanced, the vampire backing him into the wall. He felt the cold stone behind him. The clouds covered the full moon and Van Helsing could feel himself shrinking into his human form. He was already trapped by his enemy, but even then had no intention of trying to escape. He knew Dracula was right, that he wanted his life and his memories back, that he'd do well as a servant to him.

The final stroke of twelve rang out. There was no time for questions. He could feel Dracula's hot breath on his neck, and his teeth grew into sharp fangs. Van Helsing closed his eyes and braced himself for the pain that would make him Dracula's servant for the rest of eternity.

"Do not be afraid, Gabriel…I will give you your life back."
