Twenty Facts about…How Tezuka and Ryoma got Together
By Shattered Glass of Frost
1. Ryoma always had two different views about his birthday. When he was in America, he always secretly thought it was unfair that he only got one present, for both his birthday and Christmas. When he came to Japan, he decided one present was good enough. (It was all Inui-senpai's fault.)
2. When Tezuka suddenly gave him two presents, he was surprised, but then decided he was quite happy about it.
3. Tezuka had never really cared about people's presents for him, but he was delighted to find that Ryoma had given him the English novel he had tried to find for quite some time already.
4. Of course, no one knew about the exchange of gifts between the two. (or so they think)
5. Soon, something changed between them. Tezuka was still Ryoma's buchou, Ryoma was still to become Tezuka's 'Pillar of Seigaku', but something definitely had changed.
6. The change became so obvious that people started to place bets on...when Tezuka and Ryoma would get together. Momoshiro had wanted to bet burgers instead of money, but no one let him. Kikumaru got freaked out and Fuji smiled when Inui said the losers of the bet had to drink his newest concoction. Taka-san stuttered, Kaidoh blushed while Oishi fretted on the appropriateness of the betting topic. Inui definitely didn't have any problem with it. Tezuka and Ryoma never really did find out about this.
7. The first one to make the move was surprisingly, or not so surprisingly, Ryoma.
8. Ryoma didn't understand what he was feeling towards his buchou, but he knew what he wanted, so he acted upon it.
9. They had finished a tennis game on the very same court they had their first game and were shaking hands when Ryoma had jerked Tezuka down towards him.
10. Ryoma kissed him.
11. Tezuka kissed him back.
12. No one was to know about it, but the Seigaku regulars found out about it anyways. (And some of them happily collected their winnings from the bet.)
13. The news had spread in less than two days. They had no idea how Fudomine, Hyotei, Rikkai and all those other schools had found out. They really didn't. (It was probably Kikumaru's fault…or did Fuji…)
14. When their next tournament came, all the participants were pointing at Tezuka and/or Ryoma, whispering.
15. Tezuka looked indifferent. Ryoma threw glares at everyone. To those idiots who talked about them right behind their back in a loud voice, Ryoma gladly served them a twist serve, making sure it hits their mouth. Tezuka didn't lecture him.
16. They have never officially asked each other out, but they had an unspoken, mutual agreement of meeting each other every week either after practice or during the weekend.
17. They first held hands when they had to cross the road together. As cliché as that sound, it was what happened. Somehow, the Regulars found out and made a big deal out of it.
18. Their first 'date' was surprisingly not a tennis game. They met in a small coffee shop, made some small talk and just enjoyed each other's presence. The spying Regulars were disappointed at the lack of 'action'.
19. Their first kiss in public happened when Ryoma got irritated at Momoshiro and Kikumaru bothering him. He decided to give them what they want, so they can get beaten by him more willingly.
20. Between Ryoma and Tezuka, a lot more 'firsts' had happened, but every time, they made sure no one would find out. (But they usually fail anyway.)
Author's Note: I love my Japanese class. Just because I can actually write in that class, even though I need to pay attention to the lesson being taught. :p I'm not that satisfied with this, but I still like it. It was fun to write.
