You must present something of equal value to gain something.
Sugar, spice, flour, two eggs (broken), vegetable oil…
Ed reads the ingredients aloud to Al, who adds them to the center of the circle. They put their hands on the edge, then bright yellow and blue swirls about the pair.
That is the principle of equivalent trade in alchemy.
The reaction dissipates, leaves a cake. Bright smiles, happy birthday to Mom.
