The love, like a sharp-toothed bite from a dog with a dirty mouth. He remembered sex with Greed. The shark-like smile that had made him want to crawl into bed with him in the first place. He was rough, intelligent, cunning. More durable than himself. A walking contraction.
He remembered Greed. He was grimy in his fur collared coat and old stubble. Beautiful because he wanted everything and nothing. Because he didn't want to be human.
Envy was a pliable, fuckable shape-shifting parasite. A sex toy. Greed ground him into the mattress and kissed his bruise colored lips, sucking the blood away with a little gritty laughter.
They both smiled. Mirrored each other's slimy grin as all the broken bloody things began to heal themselves of their own unnatural accord. Envy purred, stretching himself languidly across the sheets.
This was an act of quickness, addiction, jealousy, of cruelty. Maybe they enjoyed it. Neither ever really said. Instead, Greed pulled on his jeans over his hips and asked, with his most dirty kind of casualty, "Do you think of him when I'm fucking you?"
He meant Fullmetal. Edward Elric. The shrimp.
Envy smirked.
Greed zipped up his fly, reaching out in the dark for his earlier discarded jacket.
"I could be him for you," he continued. "Just a little more human."
And then he smiled that shark-toothed smile that still made Envy shiver in the dark.
"Maybe he could like to fuck you just a little bit more."
Arrogance. A lazy, canine expression that filled up his whole face. Mockery.
"What do you say?"
Envy just laughed, propping himself up on one elbow as dark coils of hair fell onto his shoulders in wet, graceful bands.
"You seem to forget," he half-sneered, half-purred. "If it was him I wanted, I could be him for myself."
That would leave him beating himself off in a shape-shifted body that he absolutely despised, but never mind that. Let him think he'd rather be alone.
"No," Greed answered, rolling his shoulders back and tugging his jacket collar up around his neck. "I just don't think you have the heart." And then he sauntered out the door, leaving the other homunculus seething alone in the dark.
And Envy was jealous all over again.
