A/N: Okay, I wrote this nearly a week ago, but I haven't had time to type it. It's not too long, just a bit of much needed E/C fluff :o) Here it is!

Calleigh closed the door of her office and leaned against it, letting out a long breath and rubbing her temples. She was finally alone after what had turned out to be an awful day. After a few moments she pushed off from the door and walked across the small room, settling herself in her comfy office chair and hoping to be able to find some paperwork to keep her occupied. Before she even got a chance to open her drawer, she heard a knock. Calleigh threw her head back in exasperation and briefly considered crawling under her desk and hiding before finally asking, "Who is it?"
She bit her lip, dreading the answer
"It's me"
Calleigh sighed in relief, "Come in Eric"
He opened the door and stepped in, closing it behind him, "Hey", he smiled
She returned his smile, a bit wearily, but didn't say anything
"I saw you heading for your office, so I thought I'd come see if you wanted any company"
Her smile widened, "Thanks Eric. If it were anyone else I'd say 'no', but I wouldn't mind some company from you"
His smile turned to a grin and he walked behind her chair, moving her hair over to the side and rubbing her shoulders lightly, "Long day, huh"
She moaned lightly as he kneaded the muscles at the base of her neck, "No longer for me than it was for you"
Eric flattened his hands over her upper back and traced her shoulder blades with his thumbs, enjoying the shiver he got in response, "I heard you and Elliott had a near miss incident"
She chuckled lightly, "That wasn't the only incident we had"
Eric frowned, trying to ignore the jealousy that was tightening his stomach, "Do you want to talk about it?"
She shook her head, "There's not really anything to talk about anyway"
He nodded though she couldn't see him and continued massaging her shoulders and neck until she grabbed one of his hands and tugged him around so he was standing in front of her, "What about you Eric, do you want to talk?", she squeezed his hand, "I know you've been going through some stuff lately"
Eric looked away, "Nah, I'm all right"
She stood up and placed her hand on his cheek, turning his head to face her, "You know Eric, I do interrogations all the time. I can tell when people are lying to me", she paused before adding, "especially you"
He gave her a half smile, "It's a family thing. I'd tell you about it, but it's not really my business to tell"
She nodded understandingly, "Well I hope everything turns out okay"
"Me too", he answered a bit shakily
She stroked his cheek softly, "Come here"
Her arms wound around his neck and his encircled her waist, holding her to him tightly. They hugged for several minutes, each enjoying the feeling of being close to the other, each needing the closeness they shared. When they pulled back Calleigh smiled up at Eric, leaving her arms around his neck and he slowly leaned in and pressed his lips to hers gently. Calleigh leaned into him, sliding her fingers into his hair as his stroked her back and he deepened the kiss. They broke apart several moments later, both of them breathless, and Calleigh beamed at him as Eric tucked a silky strand of blonde hair behind her ear. "Come on", she said, taking his hand again and leading him to the door, "I'll buy the first round"
Eric smirked and followed her obediently, weaving his fingers with hers and feeling, for the first time in as long as he could remember, that his luck was taking a turn for the better.
