Made To Be Broken

Looking down at her he let out a sigh. I will always protect you…Kagome. He wasn't doing much of a job was he, letting himself be caught up in something that isn't there anymore.

I like you the way you are, as a half demon. He looked down at her. He couldn't help but smile. Beautiful was the first thought that came to mind. But no, he couldn't do this forhe was promised to Kikyo.

Looking up to the God Tree he watched the stars. I'll stay a half demon a little longer, just for you. He always wanted to protect her, to be around her. But he refused to trust himself around her. She made him heady. There was something about her. She was
completely different from Kikyo, but she was more; Not so cold. She did not try to change him. She loved him. For who he was, not for anyone he could be.

Reaching down he touched her face. Brown eyes looked up at him "What's wrong Inuyasha?" she inquired sleepily.

"Feh."

He wanted to tell her, to promise to her. But he couldn't.

"Kagome, why do you like me the way I am?" he asked uncertainty ringing in his voice.

" You're so loyal, you're just…perfect…" she looked away, blushing. I shouldn't have said that, now he's going to think I'm stupid. She started to gather her things to leave.

"Don't…please…don't Kagome…" He reached up to grab her hand. It felt…so…right, like it was meant to be there.

"You can't leave me." He said with pain in his voice.

He stood up and grabbed her. He held her as tight as he could. Never wanting to let go. She was his. He wouldn't let he go. He couldn't. He needed her.

"Kagome…" he started to feel the tears spring in his eyes,"Don't leave me, promise you'll never leave me…I love you Kagome." He looked down at her waiting for
something, for anything. He ran kisses down her neck.

"Come on Kagome, say something, please?" He was begging.

She looked at him. "Inuyasha, I promise I won't leave you. I love you." Tears stinging in her eyes.

He tilted her face up to his. …"Mine" he whispered, before his lips came down on hers.
