Brow furrows, teeth clench – he's frustrated.
An observer watches as his kimono-clad friend tugs on the dangerous strings, hoping for better results. Instead, the string master flinches, shifting the threads to one hand to place a damaged finger in his mouth.
He wants to protect his friend at all costs, but his heart tells him to wait. Kazuki is strong, he tells himself.
And so he waits for the right moment to approach. A few more tugs, the snare is gone, and the young thread master's frown is gone, replaced with an amused smile.
"Come out, Jubei-kun."
He gulps. Caught.
