Here Tonight
A/N: This is the second version of Lullaby for a Stormy night. This one is a whole BB/Raven piece. I was told it was sad so be prepared. It's crazy how one song motivates me to write so many different pieces. In fact Vienna Teng's whole cd is kind of inspiring me to write a whole group of stories.

He was crying again. Raven could feel the sadness, despair, and fear emanating from the man sleeping beside her. Even above the tempest raging outside she heard his sobs. Heartbreaking. Broken.
He awoke with a start. Gasping, sobbing, choking on his tears. A quick flash of light caught the pain in his eyes. Caught the despair that marred his features.
Unfocused eyes watched the downpour. Unsteady hands gripped the duvet tighter. Unconsciously his body moved closer to the young woman who lay next to him. Watching. Waiting.
With gentle hands Raven brought him to rest next to her. Ash gray moved to embrace emerald green.
Haltingly, chokingly, he spoke of his dreams. Spoke of the people he lost, loved ones he'd failed. Spoke of the monsters he became, the demons he created. Of the terror they showed him.
She didn't laugh. Didn't brush of his fears as irrational. Didn't try any clichéd lines offering understanding. She just listened. Held him close, offering whatever comfort it was that he seemed to draw from her. She let him cry.
Slowly his tears dried. Emerald arms pulled the pale body close. Impossible to tell where one ended and the other began. Comfort was taken and willingly given. The fear was replaced by love.
The last drops of rain fell from the sky. The last vestige of fear faded away. A soft sun slowly lit up the room where emerald and gray slept. Where fear lost the battle against love. Where in the morning everything was fine.
A/N: So there it is. I actually considered trying to write a love scene but alas it was not to be. Besides I think it may have taken away from the story. Thank you very kindly for reading. By the way this is the second posting of this version. The first was removed because it had lyrics in it. I could point out fifty million other songfics but no…only mine gets taken away :sigh: It just has not been my week.
