Full Metal Panic!
by D. Reed
Fighting every instinct of logic and reality, he forced his addled mind to think of something other than impending failure at the hands of a clearly superior enemy. He had been outclassed, and nearly outwitted. But then he heard her voice telling him what to do, what to think.
On the battlefield, close relationships become liabilities, he'd been taught. But in this case, that one close relationship that had developed – without his consent – had caused him to fall into her voice and drift. He followed. He allowed his mind to follow, too.
If the Angel's voice hadn't reached him, he would have been dead. He knew that. Gods, he knew that… but his mind could barely wrap around the breach of logic.
Thoughts ablaze, he couldn't stop turning it over under close scrutiny. But when he came to the conclusion, it was worth it.
They were meant for each other.
