Tears of Sorrow
Sitting beside my window,
Hearing the split, splat of the rain,
I gaze out to encounter,
An endless darkness,
Lightning illuminates the vast sky,
Thunder echoes throughout the distance,
Wind howling like a coyote,
Sweeping everything in its way,
They tell me to stay inside,
It is too dangerous to step outside,
To face the rage,
Of mother nature,
I want to feel the wind,
Within my soul,
Until all this pain,
Drifts away,
Feel the pouring rain,
Absorb throughout my entire body,
Until it purifies,
This broken heart,
Why can't they comprehend?
Why can't they see?
That beneath this blank expression,
I'm tearing up within,
See what you're causing?
This is your fault,
But it is mine mostly,
For falling for a person like you.
I'm still sitting,
Seeing this furious storm,
But now tears of sorrow,
Are cascading down my cheeks.
