"Do you want to run away together?"

He asked, she accepted, she would follow him anywhere if he asked her to. And she did. Holed up together in a one bedroom apartment. He was it for her. Too bad she wasn't it for him. Things were great for a while, until real life came knocking at their door, bills piling up, unemployment notices, and pretty soon eviction notices would follow. They tried they really did, but with everything happening, the only thing they could do was blame each other, because it was easier than blaming themselves. Eventually they fell apart, like everything in their lives seems to. She was tired of working sixteen hour days making minimum wage just to get by. She was going to be somebody, she was going places, now all the places she goes is from table to table refilling people's coffee cups and taking orders. She was going to be a world famous singer one day, that day never came. She has had the same job since she was sixteen, she's twenty-six. The only thing he has to give her is promises, but the promises are being flimsy and soon become empty promises, said more out of obligation than anything else. She doesn't say anything, she tries to believe him, as he promises her the world.

"I would say it was your best line ever. Too bad I fell for it."
