Summary: Laura and Rodney take their relationship a step further.
"Rodney. Rodney! Wake up!" Laura rolled over and elbowed Rodney in the side. Hard.
"Ouch, Cadman! I bruise easy. What are you doing? Genius here, I need my beauty sleep, any particular reason for the elbowing?" Rodney grumbled as he rolled to face Laura.
Laura leaned up and looked down at Rodney's face. "We had sex."
Rodney sat up a little straighter and rubbed his eyes. "Yes we did. And to take a page from the second grade manual for dealing with personal problems, you started it."
Laura rolled her eyes. "Oh please Rodney, let's not go there. I don't have a problem with the fact we've had sex. I'm worried about what people will say."
"Try again Cadman, if you were worried what people were saying, you would have stopped sleeping here every night months ago, and you wouldn't have 'accidentally' worn my favorite, and easily identifiable, tee shirt to girl's poker night."
"It's different now. For the last six months I've been able to deny that we were having sex, because we weren't. Now we have, and it's harder to deny." Laura flipped onto her back and crossed her arms over her chest.
"Why do you have to deny it?"
Laura thought about that for a second. "well, uh, I, just thought, you know, you would want to, you know?"
Rodney rolled his eyes. "Right, cause I'm so ashamed of the fact I had sex with you. I mean seriously. You are giving some of my scientists a run for their money in stupidity right now."
Laura sat up in bed and gave Rodney a frustrated look. "And now you are misunderstanding me on purpose! I didn't think you would be ashamed. I just didn't think you would want your personal business all over the base."
"I don't. But there isn't much we can do about it. You've been living here for six months; everyone thinks we're having sex, why not actually have it? I mean really, did you actually think anyone believed you when you said we were 'just friends'"
"Well . . . no." Laura said sheepishly.
Rodney gave Laura a pointed look. "Good. Are we done then?"
"Yes? You really don't care?"
"No. I don't. Now, if we are done I have to be up in 5 hours to make sure no one has done something that is going to get us killed while I've been sleeping. If you really want to have a heart to heart, I'm sure I can try and schedule you in sometime tomorrow." Rodney rolled to his side, grabbed Laura, pulled her in tight, and gave her a kiss on the forehead.
"No, I really don't mind. Now go to sleep." Rodney grumbled as Laura snuggled in closer.
