"KAGERI!" The math teacher screamed.
"WHAT? HUH? ALEXANDER THE GREAT!" Kageri woke up in a start and fell out of her seat. All of the students except for Crystal were laughing.
The teacher glared at the young girl on the ground.
"Sorry Ms. Russel." Kageri climbed back to her seat shakily.
"That's the third time you fell asleep in class and what do you say? Pumpkins, Tinkerbell, and Alexander the Great."
"I'm sorry." Kageri repeated.
"If you just get killed by demons, then I would be very happy." The teacher sighed. "If only."
"Sorry to disappoint you." Kageri muttered.
"What was that?" The teacher snapped.
"Nuttin'"
"She said 'sorry to disappoint you' you hag!" Suki snapped back at the teacher.
Ms. Russel's face turned red in anger. "Suki, Kageri, and Crystal, DETENTION!"
"Why Crystal?" Suki asked.
"Because I feel like it, you little wimp!" The teacher snapped.
Suki wrote on her paper. Step 1: Sew Ms. Russel's mouth together.
Crystal wrote: Step 2: Dunk her head in boiling oil.
Kageri wrote: Step 3: Make her chew her own liver.
"Kageri! Crystal! Suki! How many times have I warned you not to write notes on your paper unless I tell you to! Double detention! Pass your papers to me!" Ms. Russel screeched.
"I wonder how Kageri, Suki, and Crystal are doing?" Ryoki whispered to herself quietly.
"TRIPLE DETENTION!"
"Hmm…better then yesterday which was 5 detentions." Ryoki smiled. Then she sighed. Yup, Ms. Russel gave out detentions quicker then you could say, "Unfair" or "Why?" But that single word "detention" was a changing variable. It could mean just sitting at your desk doing nothing after school for one hour, or because it was a boarding school, getting your hands whipped…HARD.
"Suki, Kageri, Crystal." Ms. Russel stared at the trio. "Instead of any regular detention, I will call your parents, make you stay after school for three hours (Kageri let out a "But!"), AND smack your hands."
"But my mom is on vacation… and my hands are needed for piano lessons which IS after school," Kageri said.
"Oh dear…" Ms. Russel put on a sly symphonic face. "Then YOU get to LIVE at school for the night! In the music room."
Ryoki winced. In the music room, portraits of the famous composers were said to come to life at night.
Suki and Crystal stood up, "but she has to visit her father who is at the hospital!"
"You 2 can join her in the music room with Ms. Frerrer guarding you."
"MY DAD HAS CANCER!" Kageri screamed, "This might be his last day alive!"
Ryoki stood up. She was totally risking this, but she was Ms. Russel's pet and the school prefect. "M'am perhaps you should just let Kageri visit her father and then let her come back and live-
"SHUT UP! Ryoki, join them!"
"This means war!"
"Yes it WILL mean war when I'm through with you." The teacher hissed at them.
