My Story

Celise Allener

Prolouge

I was born on a small farm, not far from Moonbrook, in the Dust Plains of Westfall. This was before the Defias Brotherhood took over of course. My older sister, Shadow, ran off to join the ranks of the SI:7, the elite rogues of Stormwind. From the beginning of my childhood, my parents knew I had some proficency with weapons. So my father, a retired Stormwind City guard, gave me an old sword and trained me in it's use. At the age of seven, I was defending the farm from the gnolls, and the random thief. When I was ten, a represenitive of the Cathedral of Light came to Westfall to recruit new priests and paladins. I was among the first to show up at the meeting. Soon, after a brief test, I was to be sent to the Church at the age of 16, to train to become a paladin. I was given a two-handed wooden hammer to hang onto untill that day came.

When I was 14, my parents decided to send me to the Moonbrook Schoolhouse, and learn under the tutalage of Stalvan Mistmantle. While we were filing in, I saw the guy who I would eventually fall for. He was a mage-in-training, so he didn't have restrictions on his hair style. He had shoulder length red hair, that stuck out like a shield on the right side, covering the right side of his face. He had a quarterstaff on his back, and a sword at his waist. The sword was an unsusual sight for a mage, but it most likely ment his father was a warrior of sorts. As I passed him to take my seat near the front I noticed the staff. It had strange, swirling, carvings on it, intricate in design. Out of all the weapons I had collected from the looters at the farm, I had yet to see designs like that. And there was an obvious power source eminating from it that reeked of strange magic.

When school let out, one of the girls, Krissy Colt, told me that that guy had been looking at me all day. I giggled and took the risk, and introduced myself to him. He saw other students staring, so he pulled me into the barnyard that housed the entrance to the mines. It was there that he admitted that he had been "distracted from his studies by my astounding beauty." I blushed and kissed him, to see what he would do. He responded with such a passion that I was left breathless.

After that little escapade we frequently went to his favorite place, an orchid near the exit of the mines, nestled in the Dagger Hills, and talked. I learned a little about him every day. His mage name was Redtail Rathan, and he wouldn't tell me his true name. He told me of his father, a former member of the Stormwind Royal Guard. His father even knew Anduin Wrynn personally. His father had traveled all over Azeroth. And thats when Redtail told me of his mother. His mother was a NIght Elf Druid. I had heard of the Night Elves, but never actually believed their existence. He told me that his staff was his mother's. It was given to her by High Priestess Tyrande herself. His father and mother had met in Ashenvale, not far from the border of the Barrens. Redtail was born in Auberdine, and his parents eventually settled down in Westfall. And of course our relationship seemed perfect as well.

But it was not to last...
