Kara peeked inside the curtain of the sick bay bed to check that the coast was clear. There was Lee, bundled up like a baby and fast asleep. She smiled at the sight, but then remembered that, while he'd been lying there catching up on his beauty sleep for the past 2 days, she'd been the one stuck doing all his work for him. She looked down with disgust at the paperwork in her arms and decided it was time for a change.

Bang! Kara dropped the papers on top of Lee's sleeping body, making him jump up with a start.

"Time to wake up, flyboy." Kara grinned. "The holiday's over. And I've brought you a little homework. After all, we don't want that brain of yours to go too mushy while you lie on your sorry ass in here."

Lee lay back down with a groan. "And I thought it was traditional to bring the patient grapes." he grumbled croakily.

Kara chuckled as she sat next to him on the bed. "Oh, you know me Lee," she smiled as she ruffled his damp hair, "I've never been one for following the rule book."

Lee laughed, which turned into a hacking cough. "I think I'm dying," he groaned, big blue eyes looking up at her in search of sympathy. But he should have known better.

"Typical man!" Kara flung her arms towards the ceiling in mock disgust. "A slight sniffle and you think it's the end of the world. How you'd ever cope with childbirth or period pain is beyond me."

Lee decided to ignore this last comment. "Is it possible to drown in your own phlegm?" he asked.

Now it was Kara's turn to groan. "That's disgusting!"

"I'm disgusting? I'm disgusting?" Lee chortled. "That's rich coming from a woman who doesn't know the meaning of laundry! You know, you should really look it up in a dictionary sometime Kara."

Kara playfully punched him on the shoulder, which led to another groan and cough. "Are you this rude to all of your visitors?"

"Only the pretty ones." Lee murmured, then looked puzzled. "How come you're here anyway? The doc said no visitors were allowed in case this flu knocks the whole crew out of action. And you know Tigh would just love to throw you in the brig and call it quarantine."

"Oh you know me," Kara began.

"Yes, yes," Lee interrupted, "you've never been one for following the rule book. But seriously though Kara, you could get sick."

"Ah, but seriously though Lee, given that we're stuck with each other nearly every waking hour, I figure you'll have given me your frakking germs by now regardless of whether I come visit you or not."

"Well Mom always said it was good to share." Lee quipped.

As his laugh turned into a cough once more, Kara picked up the glass of water from the bedside table and helped support Lee's head whilst he drank. She noticed the beads of sweat on his brow and pressed her hand to his burning forehead as he lay back down.

"You know, you really are very hot Lee."

But Kara's momentary concern was tampered as Lee grinned widely at her comment.

Kara shook her head. "And you're delirious too. I was talking literally not figuratively you jerk."

"Uh huh, whatever you say Kara." Lee's smirk was infuriating.

She gave him another playful swipe as she jumped off the bed. "I think it's time I let you get back to your rest again Apollo," she told him. "After all, you do need all the beauty sleep you can get." She paused and gave him a hesitant peck on the forehead before turning to check it was safe for her to sneak out of the sick bay.

"Hey Kara," Lee called softly, as she went to leave. "I missed you too."

Kara rolled her eyes to the heavens as she shook her head once more. "Delirious." she sighed, a slight blush rising on her cheeks. And with that she was gone.

Lee closed his eyes once more and was still smiling as he fell back to sleep. He knew he was going to enjoy his dreams that night.
