Summer Scent Memories
Blazing sun
Tingling
chimes
Gentle
breeze
Scorching
heat
I lay here on the
sand,
without
any shelters,
bare-chested,
alone...
Summers come and go
Yet never it changes
Never
changes...not now,
Not
in my memories
The heat is always hot,
burning my skin,
Melting
my popsicle, leaving me crave for more
The
sound of waves rushing each other
Soothing
my dull senses, luring me for a peaceful nap
The
wind's cool and gentle, caressing my nerves,
Chasing
away the heat, cooling my over-heated mind
The
sound of chimes, tingling around my ears
Carried
by wind, whistling a tune in the harsh torridity
When
will it end?
These
hot summer days, these nightmarish days
The
season of remembrance, when memories are vividly seen and beheld
The
screeching sound, the bustling crowds, the grief mourning,
The
drizzling rain, the trailing hot tears, the suffocating
heat,
Then...the deafening silence and numbing stillness
Chapter
by chapter comes alive and re-played
Mocking me, taunting me and
tormenting me
The part of me who is merely a child.
So I
run and always run
Until I'm exhausted and tired
Hence I do
nothing but sit and wait
Enduring the terrors, bearing the cruel
memoir
Of him and of you, a father
and a friend
Perished
and vanished before my eyes
Leaving
me alone and always alone
No
replies nor answers nor anything
Just
silence...deadened solitude...
Yet, still I am here,
with
the melting popsicle,
with
the ghosts of past,
with
the searing heat,
Still
I am here waiting patiently
For someone to wake me up
from this dream
For
someone to save me from my own reality
For
this scorching heat to be cooled away by the rains
For
this summer days to end before I melt coz of its heat
End
(Poem's dedicated to Tachibana Akane of I'll Generation Basket by Hiroyuki Asada)
Okay this is another dedication poem I've written and posted here anyway this manga has been my favorite lately (well...besides the yaoi manga of course) and yes, Tachibana Akane is the protagonist and the main character here along with his basketball partner, Hiragi Hitonari. Akane is one cool person I like his personality a lot and viola! A poem for him!
Though the poem is dark and angsty but actually the guy, Akane is not that dark. He is loud, quite arrogant and of course is very skillful in basketball. He lost his father when he was a kid and few years ahead in summer, he lost his best friend, Takayanagi Gaku (I don't know when but I speculate it's around summer too). This is based on the short side-chapter in which this side of Akane is exposed and of course his reaction is not as dark as this poem (which is basically based on Akane sad summer scenes).
So in short, this poem contains OOC-ed Akane (I don't know for sure tho' what he is thinking about those losses) and well...this is only speculation and I don't own Tachibana Akane nor the manga. I only own the poem.
Okay, enough of that incessant rambles, right on to the poem! Happy reading!
