Title: True
Self
Series: Naruto
Rating: G (well, there's no
cuss words or anything!)
Pairing: None
Warnings:
Angst, vagueness
Spoilers: Unless you missed that Naruto is
the container for the Kyuubi...
Status: Complete
Notes: I always have to blame someone for my fics. Because, blaming myself would mean I'm either a bad person or that I actually have some kind of imagination. We all know this isn't true so I'm blaming BeckyMarie for this. Sorry if this doesn't make too much sense. I haven't ficced in a long time and it's really hard getting back into it. For clarification - what was supposed to have happened was that the Kyuubi "escaped" Naruto and he essentially became the Kyuubi. nods Yeah. That's it.
Please let me know what you think. What could be made better, how the style was. Break me down and make me better
Enjoy!
What are you?
He had asked that once.
Now, he wasn't so sure he wanted the answer.
He had never imagined something like this.
What are you?
All he could do was stare, unable to move as he watched the massive destruction around him. There were other people; he could feel them, hear them. He could also see how they fought almost pleasurably. A self-righteousness in their actions as they all but forced the Hokage to give them the orders they had always wanted.
The village must be saved...
He could hear Sakura somewhere. Her voice loud and forceful as she tried to reason against the unreasonable.
"He's our teammate! We can't let them do this! You said it yourself - that teamwork was what's important, Kakashi-sensei. We have to stop them!"
He could feel the weight of Kakashi's silence; could almost see their teacher turn his back on Sakura.
There was nothing they could do.
What are you?
He didn't know what he expected.
In truth, he had never expected anything so the answer was all the more shocking. Who would have thought?
...he must be stopped...
He wondered if he was the only one that noticed the few chunnin and jounin that didn't fight; that stood back from the crowd and simply watched, some crying, some screaming, some not even able to watch. He wondered if anyone else noticed how long it took the Hokage to give her orders to stop the destruction of the village; how each word seemed unconnected to the last as if there was no meaning in them together.
...by whatever means necessary.
It was hard to turn against one of your own.
What are you?
And all the while, as he watched the demon fox destroy what might have been his home, Sasuke couldn't help but wonder.
Your friend
If this was his fault.
"Naruto...is this really...you?
