Lyrics: Gary Allen "Tough Little Boys"

He was watching her again.

He can't help it.

He stares at her constantly, ever since the day he laid eyes on her.

She yawns; he finds it to be one of the most beautiful things about her.

Her mouth is slightly open, as her chest moves up and down in a rhythmic beat.

Her fingers wrapped tightly around the blanket that covers her small frame.

Her dirty blond hair is ruffled and messy.

Her dark, brown eyes flutter like butterflies as she sleeps. She's so gorgeous.

He moves a strand of hair from her forehead.

The touch of his fingers causes her head to move slightly.

He leans over to gently press his lips to her forehead.

It's amazing what love does to a man.

Ever since she came into his life, he's turned to mush.

The once tough, intimidating bad boy is reduced to a pile of goo in her presence. It would never have been believed if it hadn't of happened.

He looks at her and a sweet smile forms on his face.

Concern and love are evident in his eyes as he thinks about her, and what she's done to him.

He's clearly smitten with her.

He wouldn't have it any other way.

I remember one time; he picked her up in his arms and held her, too terrified to let her go.

He kissed her on the nose while she played with his hair.

I fold my arms in front of my chest.

I lean against the doorframe watching him, watching her.

It's at this time he notices me.

He smiles, and looks so innocent.

He's not embarrassed by getting caught in the act.

He moves towards me.

He doesn't try and hide the fact that I caught him red handed.

"She's beautiful." I say

He stares lovingly at her, then returns his gaze to me.

"Just like her mother." He replies before pressing his lips to mine, in the same kiss that on our wedding day, connected Staten Island to Montana.

Another day is behind her as Trista Grace Messer is engulfed in the darkness of New York City.

She won't know till she's older, that her parents make the darkness safe.

When tough little boys,

Grow up to be men,

They turn into big babies again

The End
