"Neither was I," Karkaroff admitted, then added hastily, "That is to say, I would have been perfectly happy if the school governors had elected someone else. Ivana's death was unfortunate." He exhaled. "My own tenure these few months has been most stressful..."

Karkaroff stopped short, but Zorbev only chuckled.
