Author's note: implied character death. This comes after TATV. I was very upset after this episode, and I have only just come to relize that I should write a one-shot about what would happen afterwards. I was extreamly upset when they killed Trip, and it was very unfair as well! Now all us FanFic writers have to do an AU story, or find some way to bring him back! (If we liked his character that is, which I did). It won't be long, and it's kinda sad, but I felt I had to write it.
She stood there, tall and hard, but to anyone who knew her, they could tell her control was crumbling. She silently watched as the dirt fell on the mahoganoy coffin, and they tried not to notice as the tear silently made the way down her face. To either side of the newly erected head stone were ones with names that were familiar to people that had known the recently departed. To the left was one engraved with the name Elizabeth Tucker and to the right was one that had pained, and still did, the silent woman who was there again. The name on that headstone was Elizabeth T'Mir Tucker. Everyone slowly drifted away, after paying their last respects. But all kept a distance away from the woman, not believing she could fell the same pain that they all did, and they were right, she did not fell the same pain, hers was that for her lost love, the one she would never talk to or see again, and she wasn't sure how to handle that.
One man approached her, and she slowly turned towards him.
"He loved you, did you know that? Even after all these years, whenever we got together and he got drunk, he would always say how he was sorry things never worked out between the two of you. He would usually end up crying about his sister and your daughter. Their deaths hit him hard, and he wanted to be with you…" the man trailed off, not sure of what else he should say.
"Please leave," she said, in a quiet voice that broke.
Respecting her wishes he left, but only walked away and hid a distance away, behind a large tree, and watched the woman as she kneeled down on the newly turned dirt. He saw the flash of metal and as he cried out the knife plunged into her chest. He ran towards her, and as he reached her, he pulled her into his arms.
"T'Pol, what have you done?" he cries brokenly, as the green blood rushes out of the wound.
"I could never survive without Trip, Captain. Please, do not call for help. I just want to join my beloved." And with those words she closed her eyes. Captain Jonathon Archer looked down at the body of his friend, and silently let the tears fall down his face. In the space of a few days he had lost his two best friends, T'Pol and Charles 'Trip' Tucker the III.
Everything went white, and then she was standing on a warm beach. She slowly looked around her, and then she spotted him. "TRIP!" she yelled. He slowly turned around and the grin she remembered seeing for so long, slowly encompassed his face.
"What are you doing here?" he questioned when he was close enough.
"I couldn't live without you," was her simple reply.
Two days later everyone gather around the same place, as the coffin was slowly lowered into the ground. They now grieved for two friends, but they had all known, even if only unconsciously, that they would lose both of them if the other died, and all along they were right.
The headstone now read: Here lies Charles Trip Tucker III and T'Pol, two who loved each other, and even in death, would not be separated. May they always be together.
