"Try to
tell me what I shouldn't do
You should know by now,
I won't
listen to you
Walk around with my hands up in the air
Cause I
don't care
Cause I'm alright, I'm fine
Just freak out,
let it go
I'm gonna live my life
I can't ever run and hide
I
won't compromise
Cause I'll never know
I'm gonna close my
eyes
I can't watch the time go by
I won't keep it inside
Freak
out, let it go
Just freak out, let it go
You don't always
have to do everything right
Stand up for yourself
And put up a
fight
walk around with your hands up in the air
Like you don't
care
Cause I'm alright, I'm fine
Just freak out, let it
go
I'm gonna live my life
I can't ever run and hide
I won't
compromise
Cause I'll never know
I'm gonna close my eyes
I
can't watch the time go by
I won't keep it inside
Freak out,
let it go
On my own
Let it go
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Just
let me live my life
I can't ever run and hide
I won't
compromise
Cause I'll never know
I'm gonna close my eyes
I
can't watch the time go by
I won't keep it inside
Freak out,
let it go
Gonna freak out, let it go
Gonna freak out, let
it go"
Parker walked down the sidewalk listening to the song blasting out of her ipod. She knew that she shouldn't be listening to music, but she didn't care. As she listened to Avril Lavigne's words pour out of her headphones, she let her body sway to the beat. As Parker neared Brookdale Lane she started turning the volume on her ipod down so that she would pay attention enough to turn onto her street. She was just about to make the turn into Brookdale when she felt rough hands on her shoulders.
Parker turned around and standing there was a teenager around her age. He looked to be about 15 whereas she was only 14. He had long copper hair and dark green eyes.
"What are you doing with that?" he asked "The law does not allow music."
Parker shook her head and tossed her black hair around hoping that her looks would make the boy forget about her breaking the law. He stared into Parkers brown eyes and then lowed his head towards the ground.
"I'll let you go this time but don't let me see you doing that again," he said. "What's your name anyways?" he asked.
"My name is Parker," Parker replied. "Good day sir."
"Good day Miss Parker," he replied.
Parker ran all the way home eager to be away from him. He made her feel very nervous. At least he hadn't taken her ipod.
Parker was glad she had escaped this time, but tomorrow was a new day. Another day to avoid the police and that boy. Tomorrow she would have to try harder if she wanted to live.
