Sango and Miroku came into the room and found InuYasha on the floor. He wasn't moving. Blood was everywhere. Earlier that week Naraku had attacked Kikyo. Before she died she killed Kagome. InuYasha had not been the same since. They found this note:

And I have been left behind
I lie here
The cold wooden floor against my face
Staring at it
That long, beautiful knife
I reach for it hesitantly
Discarding my ties to life
