I was a fool to believe, a fool to believe,

it all ends today, yes it all ends today...

Today's the day when dreaming ends.

A figure sat solemnly at a dusty vanity. The woman's curly locks fall delicately around her shoulders. Madame Giry gazed coldly at her reflection. Tears of jealousy pierced her eyes, as her heart beat heavily with defeat. Antoinette sighed deeply, bringing in previous thoughts of the rehearsal.

Erik had been there, at the rehearsal. Everyone knew that he was capable of such ideas, but no one thought that a backdrop would fall upon La Carlotta.

The tears pricked at Antoinette's eyes. She remembered the note.

Madame Giry,

Please kindly inform my new managers to heed the rules.

Christine will now be singing on La Carlotta's behalf.

I remain, Madame, you're obedient servant.

Erik

How could she still care for him, after how he treated her? Madame Giry remembered that perfect night they spent together. Now she was blessed with a wonderful daughter, without a father. She had placed her destiny in the hands of Erik that night, filled with hope and devotion.

Never knew I could feel like this
It's like I've never seen the sky before
Want to vanish inside your kiss
Every day I love you more and more
Listen to my heart can you hear it sing?
Come back to me and forgive everything
Seasons may change winter to spring
I love you, until the end of time.

She made her way to the window, streaked with rain. She placed a hand on the cold glass. Antoinette trembled as she looked down at the dreary streets as people ran to escape the weather.

Come what may

She shivered terribly at the thought of Erik falling for Christine. She was young enough to be his daughter, yet he loved her dearly.

Come what may

Antoinette was emotionally devoted to him. She knew this would only end badly. Christine would not truly love him.

Come what may

Christine was sure to turn from his sight. She would tremble at his distortion. The adolescent would deceive him, and then brutally hurt him. Madame Giry could hardly stand it. Christine only thinks she loves him, and she would be quick to change her mind. Tears stained Antoinette's porcelain complexion.

Come what may

The brisk room was causing her to only shiver more. Her chest was heaving against her corset from angst and betrayal. She felt a brief moment of warmth on her bare neck. She turned sharply only to find a glimpse of luminous green eyes. In a quick sweep of a dark cape the white mask vanished. Antoinette dropped her stare to the floor as her piercing blue eyes caught an object on the floor. Her curls fell over her shoulder as she bent to retrieve it. She gasped slightly as her eyes took in the deep scarlet beauty of a blossoming rose. She lifted it delicately to her heart.

I will love you

Until my dying day!
