Goku falls into a portal that takes him to a new place. In this new place, Goku meets a girl.

Within the abandoned headquarters of the Red Ribbon Army, Bulma has discovered a laboratory left behind by its owner, Dr. Gero. There, she discovers a scanner that can bring a person from the real world to a virtual world called Lyoko. She uses Goku as a test subject, but due to a freak accident, the boy's body has permanently been virtualized. Now, he must find a way back home.
