Why the Gryffindor Christmas tree was covered in bells from top to bottom, Hermione could not figure out. Nor did she particularly care to since she figured, for once, it was best she did not know. What she did want to know was why every bell had the words "Severus and Hermione forever" written on them. Taking one of them, she stormed out of the Gryffindor common room straight to Snape's office in the dungeon. She knocked hurriedly and didn't wait for his reply before opening the door. He was in the middle of drawling out "come in" when she plopped in the cushy chair opposite him.

'Have you seen this?"

He stared at the bell she shoved in his face then went back to his grading not saying a word.

"I found it on the Gryffindor's Christmas tree. Now why would the Gryffindor Christmas tree be covered in bells that say 'Severus and Hermione forever?'"

He did not look up. She stared at him for a moment.

"You're impossible." It was said in a half angry, half off-hand manner.

She stormed toward the door. She had exited when he said to himself.

"Minerva has an intriguing sense of humor."
