"I heard she left. Did you make her?"
The girl asks the question quietly, her pink cat's eyes cast at him inquiringly. The bench is cold, and the sky is cloudy, and people are giving them strange looks because a woman with pink hair and strange eyes is sitting next to a red-haired man with too much energy.
"No, we didn't."
"You should have. I would have."
His blue eyes look into hers, and they're laughing. His answer to this question has never changed, not once since they've met.
"Everyone deserves a second chance, Jinx."
Neither does hers.
"I know."
