1Summary: Something I think should have happened in "Let Me Hear Your Balalaikas Ringing Out." Discussed Narco (because, I can't write a Gilmore Girls fic without them in it).

AN: Gilmore Girls belongs to ASP and the W.B.

Jess looked at the slip of paper he had gotten from Rory again. He couldn't believe she'd given it to him. No, on second thought, he could. She could be so naive sometimes. He couldn't believe he'd asked for it. He couldn't believe he was doing this. He knocked on the door, which swung open to reveal a drunk Australian. "May I help you?" he asked.

"No. Sorry. I must have the wrong dorm." Jess said.

"Well, tell me who you're looking for, and maybe I can help you."

"Logan Huntzberger." He spat. He couldn't believe he was doing this.

"Nope. Right place. I'm Finn, by the way." He offered his hand. Jess raised one eyebrow. "Oh, right. Logan!" Finn called, "You have a visitor! I'm inviting him in, so you better be ready to talk." He stepped aside and pointed into the dorm.

"Jess," Logan spat with more venom than Jess had ever heard before, "what the fucking hell are you doing here?"

"I take it this young man isn't very welcome." Finn remarked from the door. "Shall I show him the door?"

"Please do." Logan said, not turning around.

"Wait. I'll leave. I just wanted to tell you that I'm over Rory, and she's over me. You don't have anything to worry about. I'm not the one that she'll always compare you to. I don't even know why I came over here in the first place." He had Logan's attention.

"What do you mean? Who will she always compare me to?"

"Ah, you're lucky. No blatant comparisons yet. Well, she never really did that to me, it was more subtle hints."

"Who the hell are you talking about?"

"She's never even mentioned his name? Well, don't worry. She will. She'll make plans to go to carnivals with him, then pretend she just ran into him when she goes to meet him. If you ever have a black eye, she'll accuse you of picking a fight with him, and won't believe you didn't until he confirms it. She won't even accept that, maybe, he started it, because he's 'not like that' and 'he wouldn't do that.' She'll spend an entire afternoon with him, then make up some lame excuse about getting forced into it. You'll try to sleep with her, and she'll run crying to him, then he'll beat the hell out of you. You'll be so forced into his shadow that eventually you'll run away to California, and say it's to get to know the father you've never known. But it's not. It's because, with Rory, it always comes back to Dean."

"It doesn't sound like you're over her. And who the hell is Dean?"

"She was my first love. A part of you will always love your first love."

"So all that stuff about you and Rory being over each other was just a load of crap?"

"She was my first love, so, yeah, maybe I still have feelings for her. Dean was hers. Goodnight." He said, and turned and walked out the door.

"Wasn't her boyfriend at that party named Dean?" Finn asked.

"No, that's impossible. She wouldn't have had time to date Jess in between that party and when we got together." Logan snapped. Jess shook his head as he walked off. The idea that Rory and Dean had gotten back together would have made him insanely jealous, but now it amused him, and made him happy. Part of the reason he had pursued Rory back in Stars Hollow was that he was jealous of their relationship. Their storybook, fairytale relationship. But now he had that. With Vanessa. And he'd become such a softie that it kind of warmed his heart to think that another relationship like that could keep coming back. He'd lied to Logan. Rory wasn't his first love. He'd never felt the way about her that he felt about Vanessa. And she had always been so much better with Dean than she was with Logan.
